"This is Impact Investing."

For 30 years, Day Spring has been answering one of the most important questions families face: “What happens to my loved one when I can no longer care for them?” Our newest initiative, College for Living, fills a critical gap for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are transitioning out of high school and losing access to structured supports.

College for Living is the only residential life-skills program in our community that operates outside of Medicaid funding. Graduates of the program have gone on to live independently, maintain steady jobs, volunteer, and thrive as active, contributing members of our Louisville community. Students are changing our society's perception of what a person with a disability is capable of.

With our recent expansion, College for Living has grown from serving just 6 students to welcoming up to 18. As we continue to meet the growing need, community support remains essential to sustain and strengthen this life-changing program.

This is impact investing. By supporting College for Living, you’re investing in a proven solution that replaces dependency with opportunity—delivering measurable returns for individuals, families, and our community.

Ways to invest in the future of College for Living:

Scholarship Fund: Day Spring is dedicated to making the College for Living experience accessible to every family. Through scholarships, a sliding tuition scale, and community fundraising, we open the door for more students to pursue independence and discover their unique potential—regardless of financial circumstances.

Program Expenses: Every class, activity, and real-world lesson at College for Living is crafted to build confidence and practical life skills. Gifts toward program expenses supply vital materials, innovative curriculum development, and expert instruction—ensuring each student is equipped to succeed both in the classroom and beyond.

Capital Expansion: A one-time investment in our 1,800-square-foot building expansion will create the specialized classrooms and learning spaces our students need to grow. This project will transform how we teach, connect, and empower young adults with disabilities for years to come.
